STARRY NIGHT |
An indoor projection system that brings the night sky to your ceiling. |

Looking up at the clear sky and gazing at the starts in the night sky is an awe-inspiring experience for many people.
However, 80% of the American population live in urban areas. The light pollution makes it impossible to view the stars at nights. Moreover, our society is used to move fast and dream big. It's easy to forget to pause, look up, and appreciate the stars. STARRY NIGHT is an indoor projection system that brings the night sky to your ceiling. It contains multiple synchronized laser projectors, and the Stellarium software that generates live maps of the night sky in real time. |

How might cities be designed for dog owners to move as comfortably around as they do in their own homes? Through on-site observations, surveys and interviews, our team gathered data on the experience of dog owners, and found 2 major factors that determined their experience in public with their dogs: the social support of other dog owners, and the attitude of business owners. Many dog owners expressed the desire to visit more businesses with their dogs, but trouble by the lack shared understanding of what's expected for the business and for dog owners. In addition, our research found that there's a great potential for businesses to profit from welcoming dog-owners, especially in neighborhoods where dog ownership is common. However, dog-friendly businesses are so rare, that it's difficult and risky for small businesses to experiment. To promote the community of dog owners, and to encourage businesses in Boston to explore pet-friendly models, we designed the "Boston Dog Weekend". It is a 2 day business-promotion event that features dog-friendly businesses, with smaller events for dog-owners to have fun with their animal friends. |
